Ejaz meaning
Ejaz (اعجاز) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
A miracle; wonder, astonishment; literally, rendering others powerless
Ejaz (اعجاز) is the Urdu spelling of Arabic iʿjāz, the verbal noun of aʿjaza, from the root ʿ-j-z, "to be unable". Lane's lexicon gives the verb as to render someone powerless, or to be beyond someone's reach. From this comes the idea of a miracle, a thing no one else is able to do: Steingass defines iʿjāz in Persian as wonder, astonishment and a miracle, and gives iʿjāz-i masīḥī, a miraculous cure like those of the Messiah. Name lists give "miracle", which matches the Persian and Urdu sense. In India the name is also spelled Aijaz and Ijaz.
