Fakhar meaning
Fakhar (فخر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Glory, excellence; pride, honour
Fakhar (فخر) is the Urdu pronunciation of Arabic fakhr, which Lane's lexicon gives as glory or excellence, the quality a person may take pride in. Steingass records the Persian fakhr or fakhar as glory, ornament, grace, excellence and nobility, and also pride and boasting; one of his examples, fakhru'l-aqrān, means "the glory of his contemporaries". As a name it carries the positive sense of honour and distinction, which is what name lists give. The same word forms Fakhruddin, "glory of the faith". The Pakistani cricketer Fakhar Zaman is a well-known bearer.
