Kirandeep meaning
Kirandeep (ਕਿਰਨਦੀਪ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Kiraṇ, a ray of light, joined with dīp, a lamp
Kirandeep (ਕਿਰਨਦੀਪ) joins two words for light. Kiraṇ is defined in the Mahan Kosh as a very fine line or ray of light, and also the sun; dīp is a lamp, from a root meaning "to shine". The Guru Granth Sahib uses both images, including the rays that merge back into the sun on Ang 846. Name lists render Kirandeep as a ray of light. In Punjab it is given most often to girls, as Kirandeep Kaur, but boys also carry it.
