Kiranmala meaning
Kiranmala (किरणमाला) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
A garland of rays (kiraṇa 'ray of light' + mālā 'garland')
Kiranmala (কিরণমালা, किरणमाला) joins Sanskrit kiraṇa, "a ray or beam of light", and mālā, "a garland", so it means "a garland of rays". Monier-Williams gives kiraṇa as a sunbeam or moonbeam and also as a name of the sun, while mālā is a wreath, a string of beads or a row. In Bengal the name belongs to the brave princess of the folk tale Kiranmala in the Thakurmar Jhuli collection, a story later retold on film and television. It is used mainly by Bengali families.
