Mufaddal meaning
Mufaddal (مفضل) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Preferred, favoured; judged or made more excellent than others
Mufaddal (مفضل) is the Arabic mufaḍḍal, the passive participle of faḍḍala, from faḍl, "excellence, bounty". Lane's lexicon explains faḍḍala as to attribute to someone an excellence that sets him above others, or to judge or make him more excellent, citing the Quran's statement that God has favoured the children of Adam above much of creation (17:70). So the name means "preferred, favoured". Name lists give the same meaning. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohras, is a well-known bearer.
