Netra meaning
Netra (नेत्र) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, ने, it is a Vrishchik rashi name (Anuradha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A leader, guide; the eye
Netra (नेत्र) is Sanskrit netra, from the root nī, "to lead". Monier-Williams gives it first as a leader or guide, and explains its everyday sense, the eye, as the organ that guides. As a masculine proper name it belongs to a son of Dharma in the Bhāgavata Purāṇa. The same root nī gives nīti, wise conduct, and netā, a leader, so the name sits in a family of words about guidance. Name lists give Netra as "eye", sometimes "leader", in line with the dictionary. In modern Hindi netra remains the formal word for the eye, as in netra-dān, the donation of eyes after death.
