Niharika meaning
Niharika (नीहारिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, नी, it is a Vrishchik rashi name (Anuradha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Nebula; from nīhāra, "mist, fog, heavy dew"
Also used to mean: dew drops, misty
Niharika (नीहारिका, often written निहारिका) is built on Sanskrit nīhāra, a word as old as the Ṛgveda that Monier-Williams defines as mist, fog, hoar-frost or heavy dew. The full form nīhārikā does not appear in Monier-Williams, but modern Hindi uses it as the word for a nebula, the misty glow of distant gas and stars, and McGregor's Hindi dictionary records it in that sense. Baby-name lists give "dew drops", "misty" and "nebula", and all three follow from the root: the name joins the image of morning mist with that of a cloud of stars. The stress falls on the long second syllable, nee-HAA-ri-kaa.
