Nimisha meaning
Nimisha (निमिषा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
The twinkling of an eye; a moment
Nimisha (निमिषा) comes from Sanskrit nimiṣa, the blink or twinkling of an eye, from ni-miṣ, "to close the eyes". Because a blink is so quick, nimiṣa was also used as a unit of time, a moment. Monier-Williams adds that Nimiṣa is the name of a son of Garuḍa in the Mahābhārata and an epithet of Viṣṇu. Name lists give Nimisha as "a moment" or "twinkling of an eye", which matches the dictionary. The name is used in Kerala and Gujarat, and the Malayalam actress Nimisha Sajayan is a well-known bearer.
