Riju meaning
Riju (ऋजु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Straight; upright, honest, sincere
Riju (ऋजु, Bengali ঋজু) is the Sanskrit adjective ṛju. Monier-Williams explains it as "tending in a straight direction" and gives it a literal and a moral sense: straight, and also upright, honest, right and sincere. The dictionary sets it against vṛjina, "crooked, wicked", so the name praises a person who is straightforward and true. Bengali families use Riju both as a given name and as a pet name for boys. Bengali readers know it from Rijuda, the hunter and adventurer Riju Bose in the stories of Buddhadeb Guha.
