Rishita (ऋषिता) is a modern Indian girls' name. We could not find ṛṣitā in the Sanskrit dictionaries, and the meanings attached to it online vary: "saintly" and "wise" are the most common, with "blessed" and "the best" also seen. Most explanations link it to ṛṣi, the Sanskrit word for an inspired poet or sage, which Monier-Williams records, but the feminine form itself is not attested. We therefore give these as popular meanings only. Rishitha is the usual spelling in South India.
