Sadia meaning
Sadia (سعدیہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Of saʿd: good fortune, happiness, felicity
Also used to mean: lucky, happy
Sadia (سعدیہ) is Arabic saʿdiya, a relational (nisba) form built on saʿd, which Lane's Lexicon glosses as good fortune, happiness or felicity. Read this way, the name means "of good fortune" or "happy", and name lists today give much the same: "fortunate", "lucky" or "happy". The related passive verb appears in Quran 11:108, which speaks of "those who are granted felicity" (suʿidū) in paradise. The root s-ʿ-d also gives the names Saad and Saeed. The same nisba form is familiar from Ḥalīma al-Saʿdiyya, the Prophet Muhammad's foster-mother, though in her case it names her tribe, the Banū Saʿd. The name is used by Muslim families in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
