Sadiq meaning
Sadiq (صادق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Truthful, veracious; true in speech
Also used to mean: sincere
Sadiq (صادق) is the Arabic ṣādiq, "one who speaks the truth", from ṣadaqa, "to be truthful". Lane's lexicon defines it as truthful or veracious in speech, and notes extended uses such as an attack made in earnest rather than as a show of bravery. The Quran praises the prophet Ismail as ṣādiq al-waʿd, "true to his promise" (19:54). The best-known bearer is Jaʿfar al-Sadiq, the eighth-century scholar revered as the sixth Imam of Shia Islam. Siddiq, from the same root, is a stronger, intensive form.
