Saira meaning
Saira (سائرہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Going, journeying; (of a saying) current, widely known
Also used to mean: traveller
Saira (سائرہ) is generally explained as the feminine of Arabic sāʾir, the participle of sāra, "to go, to journey". Lane's lexicon gives sāra as to go, travel or proceed, by night or by day, and sāʾir as going; a saying that is sāʾir is one that is current and known to all. Name lists give Saira as "traveller", in line with this; a few give "princess", a sense that belongs to the Hebrew name Sarah rather than to the Arabic word. In India the name is famous through the actress Saira Banu.
