Taksh meaning

Taksh (तक्ष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.

Name of a son of Bharata; also a Naga; cutting through

Also used to mean: carpenter, builder

Taksh (तक्ष) is the Sanskrit Takṣa, the name of a son of Bharata, Rama's younger brother. Monier-Williams cites him from the Rāmāyaṇa, Kālidāsa's Raghuvaṃśa and the Bhāgavata Purāṇa, and the Rāmāyaṇa tradition says Bharata named the city of Takṣaśilā (Taxila) after him. The word itself comes from the verb takṣ, "to cut, to shape", and at the end of compounds takṣa stands for takṣan, "carpenter", which is why name lists often give Taksh as "carpenter" or "builder". Monier-Williams also records Takṣa as the name of a Nāga. The name is short and modern-sounding, which suits families looking for an epic name that is easy to say.
