Unnamalai meaning
Unnamalai (உண்ணாமலை) is a Tamil and Hindu girl's name.
Parvati as worshipped at Tiruvannamalai
Also used to mean: goddess parvati
Unnamalai (உண்ணாமலை) is the name of the goddess Parvati at the Arunachaleswara temple in Tiruvannamalai, where she is the consort of Shiva as Annamalaiyar. The Tamil Lexicon records the name as uṇṇāmulai, quoting the Tevaram hymns; in Sanskrit the same goddess is called Apītakucāmbā. In everyday use the name is often written Unnamalai, echoing Annamalai, the name of the god and the hill. It is a traditional girls' name in families devoted to the Tiruvannamalai temple.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Parvati.
