Vamsidhar meaning
Vamsidhar (वंशीधर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu usage).
Holding a flute; said of Krishna
Vamsidhar (वंशीधर, Telugu వంశీధర్) joins Sanskrit vaṃśī, "flute", with dhara, "holding" or "bearing". Monier-Williams records vaṃśīdhara as "holding a flute", said of Krishna, whose bamboo flute is his best-known emblem, and also as the name of several authors. The same picture of Krishna gives the name Muralidhar, from muralī, another word for the flute, and north Indian families use the form Bansidhar. In Telugu homes the name is often shortened to Vamsi, which is also given as a name on its own. The Telugu film director Vamshi Paidipally, known for films such as Maharshi and Oopiri, was born Vamshidhar Rao.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
