Balakrishna meaning
Balakrishna (बालकृष्ण) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The boy Krishna, Krishna as a child
Balakrishna (बालकृष्ण) joins Sanskrit bāla, "child, young", with Kṛṣṇa. Monier-Williams records bāla-kṛṣṇa as "the boy Kṛṣṇa", and also as the name of several authors. The name honours Krishna's childhood in Gokul and Vrindavan, the butter-stealing child of devotional songs and of the infant images worshipped in many homes. Baby-name lists give it as "young Krishna", which matches the dictionary. North Indian families often write Balkrishna or Balkrishan, and in Tamil Nadu and Kerala the form Balakrishnan is used. Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna is a well-known bearer.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
