Vinaya meaning
Vinaya (विनया) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Discipline, training; good conduct, propriety, modesty
Also used to mean: humility
Vinaya (विनया) is the feminine form of Vinay, from Sanskrit vinaya, built on vi-nī, "to lead, to train". Monier-Williams gives guidance and training, especially moral training, education and discipline, and also good manners, propriety, decency and modesty; in the Purāṇas Vinaya is even personified as a son of Modesty. In Buddhism the Vinaya is the code of monastic discipline. Name lists explain Vinaya as "modesty", "humility" or "discipline", all from the dictionary. The name is especially used in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
