Vinodini meaning
Vinodini (विनोदिनी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Amusing, delightful; one who drives away sorrow
Also used to mean: joyful, fun-loving
Vinodini (विनोदिनी) is a feminine form of Sanskrit vinodin, from vi-nud, "to drive away". Monier-Williams gives vinodin as driving away or dispelling, and as amusing or diverting, and the related vinoda means pastime, pleasure and play. So the name suggests one who drives away care and brings delight. Name lists give "joyful" or "fun-loving", in line with the dictionary. Binodini is the Bengali form, made famous by the stage actress Binodini Dasi and by Tagore's novel Chokher Bali, whose heroine is Binodini.
