Yasmin meaning
Yasmin (یاسمین) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin.
Jasmine
Yasmin (یاسمین) is the Persian name of the jasmine flower. Steingass lists it with its variant forms yāsaman, yāsim and yāsamūn together on one page, and the same Persian word is the source of the English "jasmine". Name lists today give the same meaning, "jasmine" or "jasmine flower"; a few add "gift from God", which has no dictionary support. Related forms include Yasmeen, Yasmina, the Turkish Yasemin and the English Jasmine. As a girls' name it is used in Iran and across the Arabic-speaking world as well as by Muslim families in India and Pakistan, where it is often spelled Yasmeen.
