Ajita meaning
Ajita (अजिता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Unconquered, unsubdued, invincible, irresistible
Ajita (अजिता) is the feminine of the Sanskrit adjective ajita, from a-, "not", and jita, "conquered". Monier-Williams gives it as unconquered, unsubdued, unsurpassed, invincible and irresistible. In the masculine, Ajita is an epithet of both Vishnu and Shiva, and for Jains it names the second Tirthankara of the present age. Ajit is the boys' form; Ajita, often spelt Ajitha in the south, is its girls' counterpart. The Kerala activist K. Ajitha, founder of the women's organisation Anweshi, is a well-known bearer.
