Devahuti meaning
Devahuti (देवहूति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दे, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
An invocation of the gods; the daughter of Manu and wife of Kardama
Also used to mean: divine offering
Devahuti (देवहूति) is the Sanskrit deva-hūti, from deva, "god", and hūti, "a call". Monier-Williams gives it as an invocation of the gods, a word found in the Rigveda and Atharvaveda. In the Bhāgavata Purāṇa Devahūti is a daughter of Manu Svāyambhuva and the wife of the sage Kardama, and the mother of the sage Kapila, whose teaching to her on devotion and the Sāṅkhya philosophy fills a famous part of that text. Some name lists give "divine offering", but hūti means a call or invocation, not an oblation.
