Anandi meaning
Anandi (आनंदी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (via Hindi and Marathi).
Cheerful, in good spirits; a cheerful person
Also used to mean: joyful, happy
Anandi (आनंदी) is built on Sanskrit ānanda, "happiness, joy, bliss", one of the three qualities that Vedanta gives to Brahman. In Hindi and Marathi, ānandī is an everyday adjective; Platts' dictionary gives it as cheerful or in good spirits, and as a cheerful person. Monier-Williams also lists ānandā as a name of the goddess Gaurī. Name lists give "joyful" or "happy", which matches. A famous bearer is Anandi Gopal Joshi, who in 1886 became one of the first Indian women to qualify as a doctor of Western medicine.
