Camila meaning
Camila is an international girl's name of Latin origin (via Spanish).
A maiden of unblemished birth and character serving in sacred rites
Also used to mean: helper in sacred rites, noble
Camila is the Spanish and Portuguese form of Camilla. In Latin, Lewis and Short's dictionary explains, a camillus was a noble boy who assisted the high priest of Jupiter at sacrifices, and a camilla was a girl of unblemished birth and character, since only such girls could serve in sacred rites. In Virgil's Aeneid, Camilla is a swift warrior-maiden who leads the Volscians into battle. It is the usual form in Spanish-speaking countries, and the singer Camila Cabello is a well-known bearer. Indian families may notice a resemblance to Kamala, the lotus, but the names are unrelated.
