Ezra meaning
Ezra is an international and Christian boy's name of Hebrew origin.
Help
Also used to mean: helper
Ezra is the Hebrew name ʿEzrāʾ, a form of the word ʿezrâ, "help", from the verb ʿāzar, "to help"; Strong's Concordance lists it as H5830. In the Bible Ezra is a priest and scribe who leads a group of exiles home from Babylon to Jerusalem in the time of the Persian king Artaxerxes and, as the Book of Nehemiah describes, reads the Law aloud to the gathered people. The name is used today by Christian and Jewish families and well beyond. Short, with a bright ending, it is easy to pronounce in Indian languages and pairs well with Indian surnames.
