Guhan meaning
Guhan (குகன்) is a Tamil boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Tamil usage).
Skanda (Murugan); also Guha, the ferryman friend of Rama
Also used to mean: cave-dweller, Lord Murugan
Guhan (குகன்) is the Tamil form of Sanskrit Guha. The Tamil Lexicon gives two senses: Skanda, that is Murugan, and Guha, the chief of the Nishada boatmen who ferried Rama, Sita and Lakshmana across the Ganga and became Rama's devoted friend. Monier-Williams explains the god's name as "reared in a secret place", from guhā, "a cave, a hiding-place", which is why name lists say "cave-dweller" or "hidden one". Kamban's Ramayanam made Guhan's loyalty famous in Tamil. It is a short boys' name used in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
