Ibtisam meaning
Ibtisam (ابتسام) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Smiling; a smile, the gentlest kind of laughter
Also used to mean: cheerful
Ibtisam (ابتسام) is Arabic ibtisām, "smiling", from the root b-s-m. Lane's lexicon explains the verbs of this root as smiling, which is less than laughing: laughing in the least degree and in the most beautiful manner, or laughing a little without any sound. The Quran uses the same root when the prophet Sulayman smiles at the words of an ant (27:19). Name lists give Ibtisam as "smile" or "smiling", matching the dictionary. Basma and Basim are related names.
