Ivana meaning
Ivana is a Christian girl's name of Hebrew origin (Slavic feminine of John).
Feminine of Ivan (John): Jehovah-favoured
Also used to mean: God is gracious
Ivana is the feminine of Ivan, the Russian and Slavic form of John, made with the usual Slavic -a ending. Like John it goes back through Greek Iōannēs (Strong's G2491) to the Hebrew Yehochanan, which Strong's explains as "Jehovah-favoured", from the divine name and chanan, "to show favour"; name lists give it as "God is gracious". It is used across Russia, Serbia, Croatia, Czechia and Bulgaria. In India it is used in Christian families, including in Kerala, where it pairs naturally with brothers named Ivan or John.
