Lalatendu meaning
Lalatendu (ललाटेन्दु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia usage).
The moon on the forehead (lalāṭa 'forehead' + indu 'moon')
Lalatendu (ललाटेन्दु, Odia ଲଲାଟେନ୍ଦୁ) is a name heard almost only in Odisha. It joins two Sanskrit words: lalāṭa, which Monier-Williams gives as the forehead or brow, and indu, a drop and, above all, the moon. When the two meet, the final a and the first i blend into e, giving lalāṭendu, "the moon on the forehead". The phrase is not itself a dictionary headword, so its meaning comes from the two parts. It calls to mind the crescent moon that Shiva wears on his head in Hindu art, although the dictionary does not record it as one of his names.
