Maulik meaning
Maulik (मौलिक) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati usage).
Derived from the root, original
Also used to mean: fundamental, precious
Maulik (मौलिक) is Sanskrit maulika, an adjective from mūla, "root". Monier-Williams gives "derived from a root, original", and also a few older technical senses, including a digger or seller of roots and, in one source, "of humble origin". In modern Hindi and Gujarati maulik means original or fundamental, as in maulik adhikar, "fundamental rights", and maulik rachna, "an original work". Name lists give "original" or "fundamental", which matches the main dictionary sense, and some add "precious", which is not a dictionary sense. The name is used mainly in Gujarat.
