Meerab (میرب) is a modern girl's name used in Pakistan and India. Its origin is uncertain. One suggestion is the Persian mīr-āb, from mīr, "chief, lord", and āb, "water", which Steingass's dictionary gives as the superintendent of a river or a harbour-master, an odd fit for a girl's name. Name lists give quite different meanings, such as "princess" or "flower of paradise", none of which we could trace to a dictionary. We therefore treat its meaning as unconfirmed.
