Purnachandra meaning
Purnachandra (पूर्णचंद्र) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia usage). By its first sound, पू, it is a Kanya rashi name (Hasta nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The full moon
Purnachandra (पूर्णचंद्र, Odia ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣଚନ୍ଦ୍ର) is Sanskrit pūrṇacandra, "the full moon", a word Monier-Williams records from the Mahabharata and Ramayana. It joins pūrṇa, "full", with candra, "the moon", and the dictionary also notes it as the name of a Bodhisattva and of a Sanskrit author. The full moon is a familiar image of beauty and completeness in Indian poetry. In Odisha the name is often written as two words, Purna Chandra, and Odia readers know it from the title of the Purnachandra Odia Bhashakosha, the seven-volume Odia dictionary compiled by Gopal Chandra Praharaj and published between 1930 and 1940.
