Rashmiranjan meaning
Rashmiranjan (रश्मिरंजन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia usage).
Compound of raśmi, 'ray of light', and rañjana, 'pleasing, delighting'
Rashmiranjan (रश्मिरंजन, Odia ରଶ୍ମିରଞ୍ଜନ) is one of the -ranjan names that are a hallmark of Odia naming. Its first part, raśmi, is given by Monier-Williams as a ray of light, a beam or splendour, and in its older sense a cord or rein. Its second part, rañjana, means colouring and, by extension, pleasing, charming or delighting. Together they suggest a ray of light that brings delight. The compound is not a dictionary headword. Rashmi on its own is a girl's name, but joined with -ranjan it is used for boys, and it is often written as two words, Rashmi Ranjan. Like Biswaranjan and Soumyaranjan, it is heard mostly in Odisha.
