Gopinath meaning
Gopinath (गोपीनाथ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, गो, it is a Kumbh rashi name (Shatabhisha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lord of the cowherdesses, Krishna
Also used to mean: lord of the gopis, Lord Krishna
Gopinath (गोपीनाथ) joins gopī, "cowherdess", and nātha, "lord". Monier-Williams gives the compound as "lord of the cowherdesses", a name of Kṛṣṇa, and notes that several men have carried it. The gopis are the cowherd women of Vrindavan whose devotion to Krishna fills the Bhagavata Purana and later poetry, and many temples across India are dedicated to Krishna as Gopinath. Name lists give it the same meaning. Gopinathan is the usual Tamil and Malayalam form. Gopinath Bordoloi, the first Chief Minister of Assam, was later honoured with the Bharat Ratna.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
