Gopikrishna meaning
Gopikrishna (गोपीकृष्ण) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu and Kannada usage). By its first sound, गो, it is a Kumbh rashi name (Shatabhisha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Krishna of the gopis, the cowherdesses of Vrindavan
Also used to mean: Lord Krishna
Gopikrishna (गोपीकृष्ण) joins gopī and Kṛṣṇa. Monier-Williams gives gopī as a cowherdess or milkmaid, especially the cowherd women of Vrindavan who shared Krishna's boyhood play, and kṛṣṇa as dark or black and as the name of the celebrated avatar of Viṣṇu. Together the name means "Krishna of the gopis", and name lists give it as Krishna or as Krishna beloved by the gopis. It is used mainly in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, often written Gopi Krishna. The Kashmiri yogi Gopi Krishna (1903–1984) brought the idea of kundalini to Western readers.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
