Rujuta meaning
Rujuta (ऋजुता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Straightness; uprightness, honesty (from ṛju, "straight, honest")
Also used to mean: simplicity
Rujuta (ऋजुता) is the Sanskrit abstract noun ṛjutā, formed from ṛju. Monier-Williams explains ṛju as straight, both literally and figuratively, and in its moral sense upright, honest, right and sincere; it is the opposite of a word meaning crooked or wicked. Ṛjutā is therefore straightness or honesty. Name lists give Rujuta as "honesty" or "simplicity", in line with the dictionary. The name is mostly used in Maharashtra, where ऋ is pronounced "ru"; elsewhere it is spelled Rijuta. The nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar is a well-known bearer.
