Dharmishtha meaning
Dharmishtha (धर्मिष्ठा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Very virtuous or righteous; perfectly lawful
Also used to mean: most righteous
Dharmishtha (धर्मिष्ठा) is the feminine of Sanskrit dharmiṣṭha, a superlative formed from dharma, the moral and religious law, duty and right conduct. Monier-Williams gives dharmiṣṭha as very virtuous or righteous, and also as completely lawful, citing Manu and the Mahabharata; the ending -iṣṭha works like English "-est", as in śreṣṭha, "best". Name lists give "most righteous" or "virtuous", the same as the dictionary. The name is used in Gujarat, where it is often spelled Dharmistha.
