Dhanishta meaning
Dhanishta (धनिष्ठा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
The lunar mansion Dhaniṣṭhā; literally 'very rich' or 'very swift'
Also used to mean: nakshatra, wealthy, most famous
Dhanishta (धनिष्ठा) is the name of one of the nakṣatras, the lunar mansions of Indian astronomy. Monier-Williams records dhaniṣṭhā as the later name of the nakṣatra once called Śraviṣṭhā, and the adjective dhaniṣṭha as a superlative meaning "very swift" in the Rigveda or "very rich", from dhana, "wealth". The nakṣatra lies in the small constellation Delphinus and is presided over by the eight Vasus. Name lists give "nakshatra", "wealthy" or "most famous"; the first two are supported by the dictionary. Families sometimes choose it for a girl born under this star.
