Somasundaram meaning
Somasundaram (சோமசுந்தரம்) is a Tamil and Hindu boy's name.
Shiva as worshipped at Madurai
Somasundaram (சோமசுந்தரம்) is a name of Shiva as he is worshipped in the great temple at Madurai, where he is also called Sundareswarar. The Tamil Lexicon of the University of Madras records cōmacuntaraṉ in that sense, from Sanskrit Somasundara. Its parts are soma, which Monier-Williams gives as the soma plant and juice and, in later use, the moon, and sundara, beautiful or handsome, so the name is often read as 'beautiful as the moon', fitting the crescent Shiva wears in his hair. It is a Tamil boys' name, borne by the scholar and freedom fighter Somasundara Bharathiar.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
