Jebaraj meaning
Jebaraj (ஜெபராஜ்) is a Christian and Tamil boy's name.
Prayer + king: Tamil cepam 'prayer' and rāja 'king'
Also used to mean: king of prayer, king of worship
Jebaraj is a Tamil Christian name made of two parts. Jebam (cepam) is the Tamil form of Sanskrit japa; the Tamil Lexicon defines it as silent recitation and as prayer, and among Tamil Christians it is the everyday word for prayer. Raj is rāja, "king". Name lists render the whole as "king of prayer" or "king of worship". It belongs to a large family of Tamil Christian names built on jebam, such as Jebakumar, Jebamalai and Jebaselvi, and is used by both Catholic and Protestant families. It should not be confused with Jayaraj, from jaya, "victory".
