Abhinand meaning
Abhinand (अभिनन्द) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Malayalam usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Delight, pleasure; a wish or desire
Abhinand (अभिनन्द, Malayalam അഭിനന്ദ്) comes from Sanskrit abhinanda, a noun formed from the verb nand with the prefix abhi-. Monier-Williams gives it as delight or pleasure, a sense found as early as the Śatapatha Brāhmaṇa, where it means the pleasure of the senses, and also as a wish or desire. The same word served as a name for the first month of the year and for two scholars, a commentator on the Amarakośa and the author of the Yogavāsiṣṭhasāra. Name lists today give Abhinand as "joy" or "delight", which matches the dictionary sense. In Kerala it is used as a given name in its own right.
