Akhila meaning
Akhila (अखिला) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (South Indian usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Without a gap, complete, whole
Akhila (അഖില, ಅಖಿಲ) is the feminine of Sanskrit akhila, which Monier-Williams defines in a lovely phrase: without a gap, complete, whole. It is made from a-, "not", and khila, a gap or a piece of waste land, so its picture is of something with no part missing. The word is familiar from devotional titles such as Akhilāṇḍeśvarī, "queen of the whole universe", the goddess worshipped at Thiruvanaikaval in Tamil Nadu, and from the phrase akhila bhārata, "all-India". Akhila is a girls' name used mainly in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; the masculine form is Akhil.
