Dilnoor meaning
Dilnoor (ਦਿਲਨੂਰ) is a Sikh girl's name of Punjabi origin.
Dil (heart) joined with nūr (light)
Also used to mean: light of the heart
Dilnoor (ਦਿਲਨੂਰ) joins dil, heart, with nūr, light. Both are Persian and Arabic words in everyday Punjabi; the Mahan Kosh gives nūr as radiance and light and also as a name of the Creator, and the word appears in Kabir's hymn on Ang 1349 of the Guru Granth Sahib, which says all beings come from one light. Dilnoor reads "light of the heart", as name lists give it. It is a modern name, given mostly to girls.
