Dipto meaning
Dipto (दीप्त) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, दी, it is a Meen rashi name (Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Blazing, shining, bright, splendid
Dipto (दीप्त, Bengali দীপ্ত) is the Sanskrit dīpta, the past participle of the verb dīp, "to blaze, shine", the same root as dīpa, "lamp". Monier-Williams gives blazing, flaming, shining, bright and splendid. The word can also describe someone fired up, as with anger, but as a name it carries the sense of brightness. Bengali speakers sound the final vowel as o, so the name is written Dipto, while Sudipta, "shining bright", is a longer name built on the same word. Dipto is a short Bengali form of the word that some families now prefer on its own.
