Divyang meaning
Divyang (दिव्यांग) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati usage).
Divine, heavenly (divya) + limb, body (aṅga)
Also used to mean: divine body
Divyang (दिव्यांग, Gujarati દિવ્યાંગ) joins two Sanskrit words: divya, which Monier-Williams gives as divine, heavenly and celestial, and also wonderful and beautiful, and aṅga, a limb or member, and by extension the body. Together they give the name's usual meaning, "divine body", which is what name lists show; the compound itself is not a dictionary headword. As a boys' name it is used in Gujarati families, and the actor and director Divyang Thakkar is a well-known bearer. Since December 2015 the word divyang has also been used by the Indian government as a Hindi term for persons with disabilities, a usage some disability groups have criticised.
