Ekamjot meaning
Ekamjot (ਏਕਮਜੋਤ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Ekam (unique, peerless) joined with jot (light, divine light)
Also used to mean: one light, god's light
Ekamjot (ਏਕਮਜੋਤ) is a modern Sikh name made of two words. Ekam, in the Mahan Kosh, means "first" or "unique, without equal", and also the first lunar day of a fortnight. Jot comes from Sanskrit jyotis; the Mahan Kosh gives it as brightness and light, and also as God and as the light of the soul, and the Guru Granth Sahib uses it often for the divine light. Baby-name lists give "one light" or "God's light". "Light of the One" is a fair reading, though the dictionary sense of ekam is "first" or "peerless" rather than "one". Like most Sikh names it is used for boys and girls.
