Haridas meaning
Haridas (हरिदास) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A servant or worshipper of Viṣṇu; a personal name
Also used to mean: servant of Hari, devotee of Vishnu
Haridas (हरिदास) is Sanskrit hari-dāsa, "servant of Hari". Monier-Williams gives it as a slave or worshipper of Vishnu, citing the Bhāgavata Purāṇa, and as the name of various authors. It is a devotional name, carried by Swami Haridas, the sixteenth-century singer-saint of Vrindavan remembered in the Hindustani music tradition, and by Haridasa Ṭhākura, a companion of Chaitanya. In Karnataka the haridāsa poets, such as Purandara Dāsa, gave the word its own tradition of devotional song.
