Harit meaning
Harit (हरित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Yellowish, greenish, green, verdant
Also used to mean: lush greenery
Harit (हरित) is the Sanskrit adjective harita, a colour word covering pale yellow through to fresh green. Monier-Williams singles out the sense of verdant, green as opposed to dry, and also lists Harita as the name of several men of the epics and Purāṇas, including sons of Kaśyapa and of Yadu. The word is related to hari, the tawny or green colour that also became a name of Vishnu. Name lists give "green" or "greenery", which matches the dictionary. In modern Hindi, harit is the word used for green in phrases like harit kranti, the Green Revolution.
