Satyavan meaning
Satyavan (सत्यवान्) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Truthful, veracious; the son of Dyumatsena, husband of Sāvitrī
Satyavan (सत्यवान्) is Sanskrit satyavat, "possessing truth", built on satya, "truth". Monier-Williams gives it as truthful or veracious, and records Satyavat as the son of King Dyumatsena and the husband of Sāvitrī. Their story, told in the forest book of the Mahābhārata, is one of the most loved in India: Sāvitrī follows Yama, the god of death, and wins back her husband's life by her wit and devotion. Name lists give "truthful", matching the dictionary.
