Harmanpreet meaning
Harmanpreet (ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Har(i), God, man, the mind or heart, and prīt, love
Also used to mean: love of God
Harmanpreet (ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ) is built from three Punjabi words. Har is hari, God; man is the mind or inner self, which the Mahan Kosh also renders as the heart; and prīt is love. Love held in the mind, ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ, is a phrase of the Guru Granth Sahib, found for example on Ang 82. Together the parts describe a heart's love for God, and name lists give the name simply as "love of God". It can also be read as Harman plus preet. Two India captains carry it: the cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur and the hockey player Harmanpreet Singh.
